Meeting God in the Every Day

We have emphasized that Lent is about communion with God, about uniting ourselves to Him through obedience and the rejection of sin. But, all of this is impossible without fostering the interior life. If we wish to discover peace in this life, we must prayer and pray often. In fact, St. Maximilian Kolbe wrote:

"Whoever does not pray does not easily comprehend the spirit of prayer. Besides this, they are unable to give account of the happiness that prayer offers the soul, of the energy that prayer communicates in everyday life." (#1208)

Prayer is not something that comes immediately. We must take the time and energy to be with God, and not in an "I'm always with God" manner. We must make the deliberate decision to spend quality time with Him.  Only then will we be able to "pray always", won over by His captivating love. We will see Him everywhere and recognize His Will in everything.

"Let yourself be led."
