O Sacred Lord!

You may wish to pray the rosary, the divine office, or some other opening prayer. It is suggested to create an environment of prayer by lighting the advent wreathe, playing soft music, or some other way appropriate to your circumstance to signify that something special is happening. 

In the name of the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Spirit....

A reading from the book Isaiah 11:4-5

But he shall judge the poor with justice, and shall reprove with equity the meek of the earth: and he shall strike the earth with the rod of his mouth, and with the breath of his lips he shall slay the wicked. And justice shall be the girdle of his loins: and faith the girdle of his reins. 

Magnificat

Antiphon: O sacred Lord of ancient Israel, who showed yourself to Moses in the burning bush, who gave him the holy law on Sinai mountain: come, stretch out your mighty hand to set us free.

O Adonai, et Dux domus Israel, qui Moysi in igne flammæ rubi apparuisti, et ei in Sina legem dedisti: veni ad redimendum nos in brachio extento.






My soul proclaims the greatness of the Lord,
my spirit rejoices in God my Savior
for he has looked with favor on his lowly servant.
From this day all generations will call me blessed:
the Almighty has done great things for me,

He has mercy on those who fear him
in every generation.
He has shown the strength of his arm,
