Running on Empty

We've all felt it....that gut numbing feeling that you've run out energy. Your brain is fried, your
body aches, your spirit is dull, and your companions are no where to be found.

We've all felt it. Temptations to quit. Temptations to doubt. Temptations to give in and be a part of the crowd, even to surrender what we know is holy and good for what is passing and popular.

We've all laid in bed, or stood in the shower, or driven alone in the car.... and wondered if there was an end to the road, if we'd have enough in us to make it to that end, and just maybe this empty feeling means that we're all wrong, or going the wrong way.

Nothing but faith to hold onto. Nothing but hope to keep us going. Nothing but love to make us smile.

Nothing. And Christ knew that this absence would be at times intense. He knew that lack, want, absence, and emptiness would sometimes darken our days. In great and little ways we meet it everyday - every goodbye, every detachment, every completion, every step. And so Christ gave us His Presence to fill all the absence in our hearts. He came that we might have life, and He remained so that we might have it most abundantly!

With Christ - we never say goodbye....
