Mary gives us two powerful means to be faithful and live consistently the consecrated life*: prayer and the offering...
Prayer, which establishes and characterizes our relationship with God and Offering, which shows the measure of our surrender to Him. These means will make us people who, while continuing to live in this world, are not "of this world." We will find the joy, the true one, that Jesus promised his disciples. This will help us to overcome all the humiliations, misunderstandings, hardships, and the judgments of others. In this way we will be consistent and faithful to our vocation(s).
(August 1, 1998; OVS XI pg. 215)

*While here Father is speaking specifically of the "vowed" life, one finds the same encouragement with regards to the Christian vocation and Total Consecration to the Immaculata. One example is found in One More Gift, where Father connects total consecration to imitation of the "Virgin Offering" and the "Virgin Listening."
