The Inexpressible God

There has been so much I've thought to write, but when I've sat down to accomplish the task I can only feel. Perhaps this is a strange way to put it, but it is also the only way that I know how to put it. How many of us have had this sentiment? Deep down within us we feel a stirring so subtle and so personal that we almost wish to ignore it, but as it finds its way to the surface and subtlety becomes clarity we wish to share it with the world. We move to form words and strive to order our thoughts, but to know avail.

There is a language between us and God that is as individual and personal as the love that He has for us. In the end, the only way that we can communicate this experience with the Lord - whether it be an experience of life or death, suffering or consolation - is to "speak" the one word that all humanity can understand: Love.

It is no coincidence that the Word made flesh is also Love incarnate. If we wish for the world to understand and to see the Word, we must speak the only language we have in common: Charity.

In the end, then, we are not able to express who the Lord is and what He has done for us. But, we can allow Him to express Himself through  us ---- by surrendering ourselves to Him and allowing Him to love in us and through us.

In this way, we become "little Mary's" for the world. God, Love, becoming present and made visible in our world through our own simple Yes. This is a cause of great hope, as well as a high calling... a duty we must embrace and joyfully carry out for the salvation and happiness of all men and the greatest Glory of God.
