A New Series
Redemptive Suffering
from the Epistles of St. Paul
To begin, and very simply, really think about it: What do you see when you look at the Crucifix?
This series is all about this gaze, because we behold the crucifix every day of our lives. Some up close, some at a distance, but always with feelings, thoughts, and reactions.
What's it all about?
And by all means, for the edification of all, post some of your reflections in the comment box.
God Bless!

When I think of the manifestation of the word "power", the words that come to mind are "strength" and "ability" to make things happen and effect change. Feelings that come to me are fear, awe, admiration and a desire to become or be linked to that. I suppose "fear" may be termed as "bad" when it comes to God but the Bible and prayers we say always describe Christians as being fearful of their God. Its good to have a little fear: it demands respect and honor. Much like the characteristics a good teacher has inpsiring a some fear in students has the increased chance of classroom cooperation and higher learning.
